Performance Prediction of an Elliptical Headform Profile of a Submerged Body

In the recent years, use of computational fluid dynamics for the problems related to marine hydrodynamics is increasing world over. In this paper an attempt has been made for the application of RANS based CFD code to select a suitable elliptical head form profile for a submerged body, which is predominantly used as an under water vehicle. The over all drag of the body and the dynamic pressure distribution over the elliptical head form profile are the parameters considered for selection-of the suitable profile. 'Elliptical head form profiles with different dimensions have been generated and the parameters considered for the analysis have been analysed over the body.
