摘要

The solubilization of one phase into the other in a two phase system of oil and water occurs due to Interactions of miceller solution of surfactant. The extent of solubilization may be determined by titrimetry and expressed in terms of a new parameter as critical solubilization concentration. This parameter may be employed protitably for rapid screening, quality assurance, trace detection of petroleum products related to forensic cases viz bride death, fire and arson and adulteration etc. Arson and fire cases cover a major area in forensic analysis of petroleum products abroad. The analysis mainly involve isolation of accelerants from matrices of criminalistic importance and their identification. Various methods have been proposed for the purpose. The aspects of forensic analysis related to petroleum products in India are closely related to bride death and adulteration cases. The detection of adulteration is done by quality assurance i.e. by measuring several parameters (distillation range, viscosity, flash point etc.) in accordance with procedure prescribed by Bureau of standard, Govt, of India. The troubles in Gas Chromatographic analysis in fire cases have been focused by various works. Advanced techniques specially hyphenated are not suitable for analysis of petroleum products in the Indian perceptive i.e. lack of infrastructural facilities. Moreover, these methods are not suitable for analysis at the spot.
