Soil Science and Society

摘要

Distinguished members of the society, ladies and gentlemen!It is customary for the President to share his thoughts with the members on the occasion of the Annual General Body. My grateful thanks are due to the Almighty for bringing me to this positionfirst adorned by Sir B.C. Burt. I welcome this august gathering of soil scientists on the occasion of the 78th Annual General meeting. I am well aware of my limitations and my sincere request to all of you is not to compare me with my predecessors who have been most outstanding soil scientists, having guided the society to the present heights of glory in the past. Before I start my formal address I express my gratefulness to all the members of the Council; in particular Secretary, Joint Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer in particular; chapters and the entire membership of the Society for helping me in running the affairs of the Society.
