World Soil Day 2012: Thou Shalt Not Waste Soil But Harness Quality Management Practices

Hon'ble Dr. J.S. Kanwar, my teachers’ teacher and Chairman of this important Session celebrating FAO conceived World Soil Day, senior teachers who taught me good soil science and imparted quality agricultural education, Soil Scientists belonging to the Department of Soil Science Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) - the organizers of this convention, past and present Presidents and other functionaries of the Indian Society of Soil Science, fellow Soil Scientists from different parts of the country,other dignitaries in the audience, members belonging to the Communication Center, ladies and gentle men, let me avail this opportunity to bow my head with reverence to my alma-mater - the PAU, who shaped me and scripted my career in the time to follow during the next 48 years. I extend my greetings and gratefulness to the PAU and to all of you. Special thanks to the Indian Society of Soil Science for inviting me to speak on this occasion.
