Highly chemoselective #alpha#-diazo carbonyl insertion reactions into N-H and S-H bonds catalysed by [RuCl(#eta#~5-C_5H_5)(PPh_3)_2]

Complex [RuCl(#eta#~5-C_5H_5)(PPh_3)_2], in chloroform at 60 deg C, catalyses the chemoselective insertion of #alpha#-diazo carbonyl compounds into N-H and S-H bonds to afford #alpha#-keto-amines and #alpha#-keto-thioethers.
