Interventional Radiology: Transformation into a Clinical Discipline

It has been nearly 10 years since the certificate of added qualification in vascular and interventional radiology (IR) was established. Many in-terventionalists are currently prepared to take the recertiflcation examination as provided by the American Board of Radiology. It is therefore reasonable to reflect on the considerable changes occurring within IR as it continues a natural evolution from its beginnings nearly 40 years ago.
