Development of Tide designated National Historic Chemical Landmark

On October 25,2006,in a ceremony in Cincinnati,Ohio,the American Chemical Society(ACS)designated the development of Procter&Gamble's(P&G)Tide as the first heavy-duty synthetic detergent a National Historic Chemical Landmark.The ACS established the chemical landmarks program in 1992 to recognize sem inal events in the history of chemistry and to increase public awareness of the contributions of chemistry to society.
