摘要

Functionalization of polysaccharides achieved when Tamarind was treated with epoxychloropropane followed by Tetraethylenepentamine in strongly alkaline medium for the synthesis of TTEPA resin. The resin has been characterized on the basis of chemical composition, pH, ion exchange capacity (IEC), FTIR and TGA. Owing to the large differences in K_d values of heavy metal ions at different pH, the removal of ions from their aqueous solutions and industrial mining effluent has been systematically studied. Finally the heavy metal ions were eluted quantitatively with different strength of the acid.
