摘要

The fluorescence and photoelectrochemical studies of 3.3'-dioctadecyloxacarbocyanine [DiOC_(18)(3)] dye have been studied in reverse micelles and microemulsions (water-in-oil) respectively. The surfactants used are all nonionic and these are Tween 20, Tween 40, Tween 60, Tween 80, Triton X-100. There is a good correlation between the Stern-Volmer quenching constants determined in reverse micellar systems and the photovoltages developed in microemulsions of the same surfactants. The hydration of polyoxyethylene groups of these nonionic surfactants during microemulsion formation has been studied.
