Mathematics, is said to be the mother of all sciences. Even things, which are very abstract, become more discernable and understandable when expressed using some mathematical equations, functions or numbers. The book on "Advanced Mathematical Models in Science and Engineering" provides a comprehensive coverage of the nuances of mathematics, which would be very useful for engineers and scientists.The book contains nine chapters and five appendices running to over 700 pages. The reviewer is delighted to have the opportunity to review this classical book.The first chapter is very brief and to the point, and deals with ordinary differential equations. The coverage becomes more and more exhaustive as the author deals with more complex mathematical problems. Series solutions of ordinary differential equations have been presented in Chapter 2. Many engineering have problems similar to those associated with wave propagation in soil layers have their solutions as Complex Bessel Founctions. Asymptotic approximations, integrations and expansion of Bessel functions and Legendric functions are deal in detail in Chapter.
