Stable monomeric molybdate (VI) anion-doped polypyrrole composites [P_py(Mo)] have been prepared from sulfuric acid solution containing Mo (VI) by an electrochemical potential cycling method. P_(py)(Mo) films exhibit redox waves inherent to the polypyrrole moiety only, and the built-in Mo (OH)_5O~- is found to be electroinactive. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic examination of oxidised and reduced P_py(Mo) films confirms this phenomenon.
