Background: The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) recently released Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) to aid in determining the appropriateness of treatment options. This study compares AAOS AUC recommendations with a cohort of patients treated for known full-thickness rotator cuff tears (RCTs).
