Dear Sir,We read the interesting article written by David et al. entitled "The anatomy of the pectoral nerves and its significance in breast augmentation, axillary dissection and pectoral muscle flaps".The classical anatomy describes two nerves that innervate the PMM (pectoralis major muscle): the lateral pectoral nerve, that arises from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus and runs with the thoracoacromial vessels, courses on the undersurface of the PMM innervating the proximal one third of the muscle2; and the medial nerve that originates from the medial cord, passes inferiorly beneath the pectoralis minor muscle and ends with its distal branches through the pectoralis minor to innervate the lower portion of the PMM.
