BASF in December opened a new sales office in Nairobi, Kenya, to help support its ?1 billion business in Africa. The new office will focus on sales of innovative construction chemicals for the booming construction industry in the urban areas of East Africa.The office will also concentrate on the distribution of crop protection products and, at the same time, expand business in the consumer sector with products such as ingredients for personal care products and laundry detergents as well as pharmaceutical ingredients. Here, the company is profiting from a growing middle class with rising consumer aspirations.
