Correlation studies of different crosses and parents in linseed (Linum usitassimum L.).

The genetic correlation coefficient of different crosses of linseed and their parents was evaluated in Jharkhand, India during 1998-99. Genotypic correlation coefficient was higher than phenotypic correlation among crosses and parents. Oil yield was strongly associated with oil content, seed yield, number of capsules, and number of secondary branches. Oil yield had a strong and favorable association with seed yield, followed by capsule number/plant, oil content, and number of secondary and primary branches, irrespective of the F1 or F2.
