No absract. In the course of the synthesis of poly(N-vinylimidazole)-l- poly(tetrahydrofuran) (PVIm-l-PTHF; "-l- "stands for "linked by") amphiphilic conetworks, it was surprisingly found that higher molecular weight methacrylate-telechelic PTHF (PTHFDMA) bismacromonomers were incorporated into the conetworks with higher extent than that of shorter chains. This striking observation of the enhanced apparent reactivity of PTHFDMA with its increasing molecular weight is explained by uneven partitioning of VIm between the solution and the volume occupied by the hydrophobic PTHF attached with the growing chain.
