Developing A Simple Method to Determine Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)in Liquid Incubation Cultures

On a request to decrease the operation procedures and for quick analysis,the present study provides a simple method to determine poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)in liquid incubation cultures.With PVA concentration([PVA]),time(t)and pH value as parameters,the relationship among them has been investigated in the presence of microbes.The interesting result shows that although the profiles of [PVA] versus t and pH versus t appear to be considerably complicated,a good linear correlation exists between [PVA]/t and pH/t in almost every case.The presence of such a relationship provides a convenient method to monitor and analyze quickly the change of PVA concentration in liquid incubation cultures.
