Chinese prices for HDG steels started to see some improvement on the spot market this month. This was curtailed at the time of writing however, as further interest rate rises have dampened sentiment for potential end-user demand, especially as inventories are likely to be still high from rapid output increases in the first quarter, while domestic consumption lagged.
