The original article to which this Erratum refers was published in The Journal of Pathology 1997: 181: 323-329Dr Kaarina Sundelin, an author of this article, has brought to the attention of the Editor errors in the statistical analyses in the article which was first published in 1997 A recent statistical re-analysis by Dr Sundelin shows that that the authors' limited dataset could not support that either proliferation [as measured by MIB-1 (Ki67)] or tumour stage I is significantly correlated with survival.The Editor has held an independent review of the data and can confirm that there is no significant statistical relationship between proliferation or stage and survival in the available data set. There is no suggestion that this is anything other than an error and the accuracy of the other statistical analyses included in the article is not in question.
