The problem of phonon scattering by static strain fields due to biaxial wedge disclination dipoles (WDDs) of finite length and circular wedge disclination loops (WDLs) is studied in the framework of the deformation potential approach. The specific behaviour of the thermal conductivity, kappa, is found for both defects. In particular, for WDDs the crossover from T-2 to T is predicted at low temperatures. For circular WDLs, kappa(T) exhibits a minimum at some temperature T* in the low-temperature range. Above T* kappa similar to T-2 (dislocation-like behaviour), while below T*, one finds kappa similar to T-3. [References: 14]
