Colleagues in Caring: Pastoral Care at the Bedside

The week of of October 23 10 29, 2011, was designated to honor professionals in pastoral care. If your institution is fortunate enough to work with chaplains, and related pastoral care professionals (clergy, volunteers), take time to thank them and share appreciation for the gifts and talents they possess. There is much to be learned from their work and skills that can assist nurses to engage more fully at the bedside, particularly in moments of spiritual and emotional crisis.
