Falling met and steam coal prices take Natural Resource Partners' revenues lower

A decrease in prices for both metallurgical and steam coal pushed Natural Resource Partners' revenues from royalties down 26% in the third quarter to $52 million at an average $3.88/st, compared with $70 million at an average $5.27/st in the same quarter last year. Year-to-date revenues were down 15% to just under $165 million at an average $3.91/st compared with $193.1 million at an average $5.16/st, the Houston, Texas-based master limited partnership said in Tuesday's earnings release.
