Advances in bioplastics production processes

Bioplastics venture Reverdia has secured access to a range of important new patents for its technology. The patents for yeast-based succinic acid production technology were granted to DSM, which is partnered with Roquette Frères on the joint venture. The patents concern both low-pH dicarboxylic acid production; and succinic acid production in a eukaryotic cell. The patents apply in Europe, Japan and Canada.
