Vulva or Aidoio: Latin or Greek but avoid hybrid terms

This issue contains two review articles about the vulva. The first, 'The normal vulva in medical textbooks' by Andrikopoulou et al. (2013) describes the searching of 59 gynaecology and anatomy textbooks for information and dimensions of the vagina, clitoris and labia. The second, 'Terminology and diagnosis of vulval pain' by MacLean and Siddiqui (2013), describes the slow evolution of an acceptable terminology and the use of the word 'vulvodynia'.
