摘要

A novel compound hyperbolic concentrator-type reflector for use in liquid crystal display backlight systems is proposed. The three-dimensional reflector is simplified to a two-dimensional reflector first. The two-dimensional reflector is governed by reflector equations which are deduced from an edge-ray method and conservation of energy directly. A reflector for the three-LED backlight system is simulated. This reflector improves the x-directional illumination uniformity in an xy section of the light-guide plate as well as avoiding the LED backlight shadow phenomenon. The ray-tracing results show that the x-directional illumination uniformity is improved to about double.
