摘要

Root knot nematode, Meloidogyne arenaria is a seriouslimiting factor in groundnut production. It causes extensivedamage to groundnut pegs and prevents the poddevelopment. Nematode control with use of chemicals iseffective in soil but it creates environmental problems.Recently the use of bio-control agents like fluorescentpseudomonads for nematode control have got worldwiderecognition (Spiegel ef al., 1991; Siddiqui et al., 1999).Hence an attempt has been made to test the effect ofPseudomonas fluorescens on M. arenaria egg hatching,juvenile immobility and juvenile penetration into roots ofgroundnut cv. CO-3 during 2005 at Agricultural ResearchStation, Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh.
