摘要

Eighty four somaclones of ginger cultivars Maran and Rio-de-Janeiro regenerated through indirect organogenesis, were subjected to screening against soft rot and bacterial wilt disease using toxic metabolites of Pythium aphanidermatum and Ralstonia solanacearum by electrolyte leakage method. While fourteen somaclones namely 36 MC, 121 MC, 227 MC, 232 MC, 292 MC, 293 MC, 31 RC, 80 RC, 137 RC, 287 RC, 440 RC, 453 RC, 597 RC and 598 RC, exhibited low leakage of electrolytes to toxic metabolites of P. aphanidermatum twelve somaclones recorded low leakage of electrolytes to toxic metabolites of R. solanacearum (i.e., 120 MC, 131 MC, 223 MC, 224 MC, 234 MC, 469 MC, 33 RC, 83 RC, 137 RC, 438 RC, 439 RC and 442 RC). Somaclones of cv. Maran indicated more tolerance to both diseases as compared to somaclones of cv. Rio-de-Janeiro.
