Hand injuries encompass an oversized share of all work accidents. In Quebec, they account for 18.4% of injuries compensated by the Commission de la Sante et de la Securite du Travail (CSST)1 , and in some industries such as wood and plastics manufacturing, metal machining, and food processing, the percentage is as high as 25%.
