A collaborative project by the Niche of Excellence for Advanced Flexible Materials has resulted in a new product being put on the market: a sling of second to none quality. The project was lead by Belt-Tech Products, FilSpec.Wire Rope Industries and CTT Group, and involved designing and manufacturing a strap that provided a solution to a major problem, namely, severing due to high-tension impact. Every year, this problem causes material losses and serious accidents in many user industries, including construction, shipping and mining.
