NANOSTRUCTURE FIBER DEVELOPED FOR ADVANCED FIREFIGHTING SUITS

The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Teijin Techno Products Ltd and Hosokawa Micron Corporation have been working together on a new fabric incorporating nanostructure fiber for use in advanced firefighting suits. Firefighting suits must protect against flame and heat, but they must also be comfortable to wear. This new fabric realizes both of these functions in the heat-barrier layer, a lining serving as the innermost of three layers in firefighting suits.
