摘要

This study investigates the carrying capacity of the propelling mechanism of tunneling machines. First, the load-carrying factors that characterize the carrying capacity of the pushing mechanism are extracted using spatial force ellipse eccentricity as the measuring degree of the evenness of the external load on the tunnel segments. Second, the carrying eigenline and eigencone of the thrust mechanism are found by analyzing the characteristics of the carrying factors. Third, the relationship between the carrying eigenline and eigencone is discussed. Finally, the carrying capacity of different configurations of the mechanisms of the tunneling machine is investigated in detail by applying the carrying eigenline and eigencone model into some of the pushing mechanisms in engineering applications. Results provide a theoretical foundation and support for the design of propelling mechanisms that are adaptable to various geological conditions.
