IC&E gets yes from STB for I&M Rail Link

The Surface Transportation Board voted July 22 to let the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad-through holding company Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad-acquire the I&M Rail Link. The board denied requests by several groups to stay the move of non-carrier IC&E to acquire IMRL under the board's "class exemption" procedures. Under those procedures, non-carriers may acquire lines of rail carriers without filing a detailed application and awaiting board approval.
