Ordinary sheet glass transmits a part of the UV light (320-400 nm) causing damages in human system [1]. The application of some suitable thin films on glass alters the transmission property of the glass. A series of TiO_2-M_xO_y (M = Pb, Bi,Ni,etc.)coatingcompositions was considered for developing thin coatings on glass by sol-gel processing and was found very much effective for decreasing the transmission property of the glass in this wavelength region |2], Apart from these binary TiO2-MvOv systems, yellow coating was developed by sol-gel processing apply ing TiO2-CeO2 system [3|.
