摘要

In our endeavour to exploit the oxygen gas-sensing behaviour of semiconducting oxide glasses, we have found that the n-type semiconductive glasses [1-3] responded to changes in the gas atmosphere in the same way as n-type ceramics [4-7]. The underlying principle being that these sensor compounds (n-type semiconductors) receive electrons from gas molecules which causes a change in electrical conduction by a reducing action.
