摘要

The discovery of 110 K and 80 K superconducting phases in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system has generated substantial research effort in the processing and microstructural control of this compound [1,2]. Among the various processing methods available, the glass ceramic processing technique has been extensively used since it offers a highly dense starting material which is suitable for obtaining controlled microstructures by crystallization [3-5]. Nucleating agents play an important role in the crystallization process and hence in microstructural control. Recently Ag2O has been used as a nucleating agent and was found to influence the various structural, microstructural and physical properties significantly [6].
