Statistical Modeling of the Residual Life of an Oil and Gas Pipeline under Alternating Pressure

According to a deterministic formula, using the method of statistical modeling, it was found that the residual life of an oil and gas pipeline has a lognormal distribution, where the input arguments: Paris' coefficients, the annual number of cycles, the diameter and the pipeline wall thickness, the initial and critical crack depth, and the maximum and minimum stresses are subject to the normal law. According to these data, limiting safe operation lifetimes of the pipeline sections analyzed are determined.
