摘要

In this paper, the rigid-plastic finite-element method is used to simulate the process of cup rod combined extrusion. On the basis of the simulation, the curve of load versus stroke is calculated. Moreover, according to the stress and strainfields in the deformation of the workpiece, as obtained by calculation, a technique for tracing the movement of particles and a ductile fracture criterion is adopted to predict rod surface crack defects in the workpiece during cup-rod combined extrusion.The numerical results agree well with the results of experiments. The study can provide some beneficial suggestions to those concerned with process and tool design.
