Effects of cold working and final aging on thecorrosion resistance of Zr-lFe-O.2Cu alloy were investigated.Microhardness tests were conducted for all heat-treated specimensand tensile tests were also carried out for some selected samples.Corrosion resistance was observed to be degraded by theintroduction of cold rolling conducted before aging probably dueto the promotion of precipitate formation. The corrosionresistance was also decreased during aging mainly because the sizeof precipitate was increased. The microstructure of heat-treatedsamples was investigated using SEM and TEM. And, from EDSand SADP analyses only one kind of precipitate, Zr3Fe, wasidentified to exist in the heat-treated samples. The short final agingat a high temperature (580℃) was thought to be desirable for themechanical properties.
