Creating a public health cadre in India: the development of a framework for interprofessional and inter-sector collaboration.

India's current health system strengths and problems are connected to British colonial health policies as an independent country. For the past 30-40 years, there has been an increased attention to examine the previous health system to promote indigenous Indian system of medicine by combining allopath system (Khan, 2006).Indian public health system broadly comprises of three types: (1) community level preventive services to reduce exposure to disease by improving sanitation, etc.; (2) clinical preventive services provided to individuals such as vaccination through primary health care; and (3) medical services to care for and treat individuals with diseases especially tertiary care needs.
