A model to predict the performance of drum shearers: an example from a Cayirhan lignite mine, Ankara, Central Turkey

摘要

Recently fully-mechanised longwall mining has become widespread. The use of drum shearer machines in coal excavation is a very important contribution to increase the coal production. This study was conducted in Cayirhan district where mechanised excavation and retreating longwall underground mine systems were used. Cayirhan district, being the first mine in Turkey where underground mechanisation was applied, has become a most important coal and electricity production centre. In this study, cutting performance of a drum shearer machine was evaluated.
