FIRST REPORT OF YELLOW TAIL TUSSOCK MOTH, SOMENA SCINTILLANS WALKER (LEPIDOPTERA: LYMANTRIIDAE) ON APPLE PLANTATIONS INJAMMU

摘要

Somena scintillans Walker, belonging to the family Lymantriidae, is a polyphagous pest damaging the apple plantations is reported for the first time from different parts of Jammu province of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Incidence of the pest was ascertained by the defoliated leaves fallen from the trees. Biological studies, morphometric measurements and its distribution were studied in detail.
