Investigations on the effect of different host plants, viz. pigeonpea, sunflower, cotton, chickpea and tomato on the susceptibility of Helicoverpa armigefa to endosulfan, quinalphos, carbaryl, cypermethrin and fenvalerate were conducted in laboratoryduring 2002-03. H. armigera raised on pigeonpea recorded highest LD_(50) values followed by H. armigera reared on sunflower, cotton and chickpea indicating tolerance to all the insecticides. H. armigera population reared ontomato, however, exhibited susceptibility to all the insecticides and recorded the lowest LD_(50)values. All the five populations exhibited tolerance to endosulfan as evidenced from higher LD_(50)values.
