摘要

Wear characteristics of composites based on thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers that are used to produce coatings and friction components operating under conditions of micro-slip were discussed. The failure mechanisms and wear rates of different friction surface portions were shown to differ and be governed by the nature of the polymer material and the rate of tangential loading. At slow sliding velocities at the vicinities of the end points and at high velocities, the medium portions of the friction track experienced maximal wear.
