Analysis of temperature fields in the vicinity of spots of rail-wheel contact at rolling with sliding

摘要

Equations for calculation of surface temperature of half-space were derived for intermittent friction at the boundary condition of the third kind. It was shown that the contact temperature rise could vary markedly the mechanical behavior of rail and wheel steels. The ways were pointed out how to decrease this effect.
