摘要

The process is discussed how the lubricating layer is replenished from the body of a porous oil-filled slider bearing. It is shown that the ideas of capillary flow in such systems only by the effect of the Laplace force fail to describe the process satisfactorily. A kinematic mathematical model is advanced describing the flow with the Bernoulli and Navier-Stokes equations. The model enables to take into account the characteristics of the porous system of the bearing and predict its service life in the self-lubrication mode.
