An Overview of Gobies of the Subfamily Amblyopinae (Gobiidae) from the Western South China Sea (Vietnam and Indonesia) and Pacific Waters,of the Philippines

Gobies of the subfamily Amblyopinae are described from Nha Trang and Van Phong bays (South China Sea, Vietnam), where five genera and five species (including a new genus and species Bien-dongella iljini gen et sp. n.) are recorded. The second speciesof a new genus, B. hemilissa gen et sp. n., is described from the waters to the south of the Anambas Islands (South China Sea, Indonesia). Another new genus and species, Sovvityazius aeer gen et sp. n., is described from the Pacific waters of the Philippines. Both new genera belong to the genera group Taenioides. The species Trypauchenichthys larsonae registered previously only off North Australia is recorded in the Pacific waters of the Philippines.
