Coverage isn't enough: Building primary care capacity in the setting of health reform

The Access Partnership is a program linking uninsured patients with primary and specialty care. Expansion of primary care access resulted in an influx of patients with multiple chronic conditions, causing the primary care practice to reach capacity aft er seven months. Our program may provide lessons in ensuring primary care access as the Aff ordable Care Act is implemented.
