Direct Force Controversy in Electrom ig ration Exit

摘要

The last remaining claim of a complete cancellation of the direct force in electro-migration is invalidated. In addition new numerical results are given for the magnitude of the direct force on hydrogen in a metallic embedment, showing a screening of at most 40%. The hydrogen potential used is obtained by an ab initio method.
