New record of Emnelia monodactylus L. (Pterophoridae: Lepidoptera) on sweet potato in Egypt alongwith its life history and parasitization

摘要

First report on Emnelia monodactylus L. as a pest of sweet potato in Egypt. Studies on its life history indicated incubation, larval, and pupal periods as 3.33, 11.5 and 5.2 days respectively. The longevity of the female was 5.9 days whereas the malelived for 2.4 days. Total life cycle ranged from 14-20 days during June-August, 1995-96. Two larval parasitoids belonging to two families viz., Chalcididae and Eulophidae were recorded on this pest and parasitization ranged from 00.00 to 13.33%.
