Academic achievement, performance intelligence, study habits and family relationship in the children of Haryana state

摘要

The present study was conducted in Hisar city of Haryana state and a sample of 204 respondents in the age group of 10-12 years was selected from eight schools of the city. The study revealed that the boys had higher mean IQ scores than the girls. Whereas, in case of academic achievement scores females had higher scores than mates. It has also been found that better study habits lead to higher achievement in children. Similarly, highest mean scores have been found on parental acceptance by high achievers and lowest mean values for parental avoidance. Moreover, a significant positive correlation has also been found between IQ scores and academic achievement.
